Systematic Review Full Paper Screening – EndNote to Excel Tool
A purpose-built Windows application that converts EndNote XML exports into screening-ready Excel files, automatically categorizes references by file accessibility (PDF/URL/DOI), and organizes attached PDFs by publication year—ideal for systematic review teams and academic researchers.
How to Setup
Step 1: Initial Setup (one-time)

Download and extract the app folder.

Double-click Run_Setup.bat.

The setup will:

Create input/ and output/ folders
-
Install required dependencies (Python 3.7+ if needed)

Generate shortcuts

Step 2: Prepare Your Data

In EndNote: All References → Select All → File → Export → Save as type: .XML → Output Style: Refman (RIS) Export and save your library export.

Place the exported .xml in input/.

Ensure your EndNote .Data folder (with PDFs) sits in the same directory as the application.

How to Use
Step 1: Run Conversion

Double-click Run_Converter.bat.

Typical processing time: ~1–3 minutes for large libraries.
Step 2: Review Output

Open output/Screening full-texts.xlsx for screening.

Access PDFs in output/Organized_PDFs_by_Year/.

Use the built-in 1–12 screening codes for your workflow.
